A good SRS defines how an application will interact with system hardware, other programs and human users in a wide variety of real-world situation. Parameters such operating speed, response time, availability, portability, security and speed of recovery from adverse events are evaluated.

In real life when students/employees go to mess they need to interact with the person and tell their problem. Interface of the software do the same. It provides the interaction between student and the software.

Functional Requirements Of Online Examination System

Functional requirement are those requirements that define the functionality of project. In other functional requirements are basically how the system works for the users.

Interface of software to provide the interaction between students, admins and teachers.

Software provides the platform and saves the time. Also, software saves the record.

ABSTRACT OF Online Examination System

Online Examination System provides quick and easy means of examination. It saves both time and energies and provides a user friendly environment. Our system have basically two parts user and administration. This system can store the history and also gives feedback of the students.

Online examination system is a web-based examination system where examination is taken online i.e. through the internet or intranet using computer system. It is an effective solution for mass education evaluation. We have developed an web-based online-examination system. This system is developed by using PHP,HTML,CSS,JavaScript and Microsoft SQL Server as database.

The system carries out the examination and auto-grading for multiple choice questions which is feed into the system. Online Examination System is considered a fast- developing examination method because of its accuracy and speed.

It is also needed less manpower to handle the examination. Online Examination System is a cost-effective, scalable way to convert traditional pen and paper-based exams to online and paperless mode. Candidates can appear for the exam using any desktop, laptop, or mobile device with a browser. Exam results can be generated instantly for the objective type of questions. It can simplify overall examination management and result in generation activity.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Manual Examination system is an old system and it is replete with many problems. The manual examination malpractice and other immoral acts committed by students, which violates the rules and regulations of Universities as it concerns the administration of examination as well as the human moral content.

In furtherance, during manual computation of results, errors may arise due to omission or ―commission. There is also a problem of time wasting. This research suggests that if an efficient and effective online examination system is developed, where examinations will be taken online, and results computed and released immediately, as well as stored in a central database for documentation and future planning and evaluation purposes, there shall be relative balance and harmony within the University System.

The staff will take the advantage of time that would have been spent on marking examination and preparing results to enable them do their research work. This will also cause the unserious students to be committed to their studies.

Almost all Schools, Colleges and Universities today, are managing their exams by online

examination system, since it reduces student’s time in examinations. Organizations can also easily

monitor the progress of the student that they give through an examination. As a result of this, the result is calculated in less time. It also helps diminishing the need for paper.

Online examination project in PHP is very useful to learn it, according to today’s requirement Online examination system is significantly important to the educational institution to prepare the exams, saving the time and effort that is required to check the exam papers and to prepare the results reports. Online examination system helps the educational institutions to monitor their students and keep eyes on their progress.

The best use of this system in Scholastic Institute and training centres because it helps in managing the exams and get the results in easy and an efficient manner. Until today the preparing for exams and preparing the results was performed manually, this required more time to complete.

Examination is one of the best methods of evaluating the knowledge and ability of an individual. In the age of present information technology, online based examination has been highly interested and suitable in both educational and pedagogical aspects. It can be used in place of manual or paper method which was characterized by massive flaws like examination leakages, impersonations and invigilators of examinations.

In this project students can participate into examination from remote location and get their results instantly after finishing the exam. To participate into the exam, they should have proper access through internet or local area network.

They can even use their tablet, smart phone to participate into the examination using this system. At the same time teachers or controller can create questions and can conduct exam without going exam hall and as well as can monitor exam progress in live mode. This system is an attempt to remove the existing flaws of manual system to conducting exams.
